Our "catch" from the feeder. Bait – unsalted sunflower seeds and unsalted lard.
This is our new species on the feeder, or rather, under the feeder. These birds were here before, but I've caught by the lens only today.
It is called a Mealy redpoll (Carduelis flammea).

Common buzzard (Buteo Buteo)Horned larks (Eremophila alpestris) and Mealy redpolls were not allowing us to get close. But I was pleased with the Waxwings (Bombycilla garrulus) and the European goldfinches (Carduelis carduelis).
... We almost spent the night in an open field because it was a wrong idea "to drive along this road, in case there are birds...": a heavy snowfall was dangerously close to trapping us. It's good that we carry a shovel with us in the car. Just in case…
